I almost forgot! The craft show I worked hard for recently went okay, but not as well as I had hoped. It was a slow day and there were a lot of lookyloos. I did make a little profit though, so the day wasn’t a total loss. The big seller was my tooth fairy pillows. People loved them! They are a pretty fun idea. They have a ribbon to hang them on the bedroom door so that the tooth isn’t hidden under the pillow and is more easily found. I will be making more for the next show coming up at the end of April. I hope they sell just as well at this next one. It will be at a library, so I want to make a bunch of bookmarks as well. Those should hopefully sell there. The up side of not selling too much at this last show is that I had a lot of stuff to add at the consignment shop where I have a nice big shelving unit with my stuff in it. With Easter coming up, I’m hoping that people buy a lot of the stuffed animals I made for in baskets. We shall see.
I do admit that I am disappointed with how the last show went, but my hubby is one of my biggest supporters and was like, look, there are a few more shows coming up. It really warms my heart that he is so supportive of me and my hobby.
So time to shake off the lack of success from the last show and look forward to the next. You have to think positive. Happy Crafting!
My next craft show is this coming Saturday. I have so many crocheted projects that just need to be sewn together or finished in some way. I’m starting to get nervous and scared that I won’t get it all done. Yet I am putting off getting up out of bed and starting my day. I have an almost 3 year old to run after all day, an 11 year old at school and my hubby doesn’t have a day off until Friday. I’m sure that I will get enough done and ready for the show, but I always work myself up and worry that I’ll never make it. This bed feels so cozy and the blankets are so warm. And my son is still asleep.
Maybe just a few more minutes…
Got my first two animals done today.
A is for Alligator and B is for Butterfly.
Can’t wait to make something nice for my little man 🙂
Happy crafting everyone 🙂
I love crocheting and don’t write about it enough. I made a monkey for my son not too long ago and he seems to like it 🙂 lol I say seems to because he’s a boy and is rougher on his toys than my daughter was.
A few days ago, I saw on a page I like on Facebook where a crafter I like is doing an alphabet of animal appliqué for a blanket she is making. She is sharing the animals one day at a time and in alphabetical order. I am going to try and crochet along and either make a little book for my son with the animals or a blanket for him with them. We shall see. 🙂
If you would like to check out the page, her crochet page is Repeat Crafter Me. https://www.facebook.com/RepeatCrafterMe
She has amazing patterns and items and is so talented!
I will try to post animals as I get them done.
If only there were more hours in the day so we could accomplish more things. Lol
Have a crafty day everyone!!
Well, it has been way too long since my last post. I apologize for that. It has been busy around my house. We have a new addition to our family, our son John Edward. He was born April 19th. 🙂 He is the most handsome little man I’ve ever seen. 🙂
I’ve completed two crocodile stitch baby blankets.
And I have made a few little beanies for my little man. 🙂 I’m working on some items for a giveaway for one of my friends who owns her own photography business. Can’t wait to finish these items for her and get my name out there some more. 🙂 If you would like to check her out or even see my giveaway items when they are finished and posted tomorrow, her facebook page is Cole Pix Photography. She does amazing work. We just took John over and got his baby pictures taken. Can’t wait to see how they turned out 🙂
Well, back to my hooks! Have a great day everyone!
I can’t believe it’s already June! I am trying to quickly finish some camo squares for a square swap that was to be mailed in on the 30th of May, yet I got an extension until the 7th of June. I still have 24 more blocks to go! But I have time tonight and tomorrow to work on them, so hopefully I can get them done and in the mail by the end of the week 🙂
I’m still steadily working on the squares for the blanket i’m making my mother as well. They are coming along nicely and just need the last color around them. Then I think I will sew in loose ends before I connect them. Hopefully saving myself some time at the end. We shall see.
Only 7 more days until my 27th birthday, yet I only feel as if I am turning 20 or so. 🙂 In some ways that is a good thing, in others, not so much. lol I just wish I could have better luck with finding some web design work. Hopefully sometime soon I will get a good lead.
Well, off to check on the lasagna I have in the oven. 🙂 Hope you all have a wonderful day! ❤
I ordered 3 new crochet books this past week. The wonderful mail lady brought them to my door today 🙂
1. Learn to do Bavarian Crochet ~ Can’t wait to use this as I really want to make one of these blankets. This book also has 9 different patterns that look very cool. 🙂
2. Beyond The Square Crochet Motifs ~ This book has 144 patterns for different shaped motifs. I will DEFINITELY be using this as I am in different square swaps and love making blankets.
3. Around The Corner Crochet Borders ~ This book has 150 different crochet edgings and charts and instructions on creating beautiful borders for blankets. 🙂 This will come in handy for all the blankets I will be making with my new motif book 🙂
For this “hooker”, it is a good day. So many patterns, so much yarn, too little time to actually use them as much as i’d like. lol Someday.
